Unidentified murder victim found in Carletonville CBD

Police are investigating and calling for public assistance.

The Carletonville Central Business District (CBD) was the scene of a disturbing discovery early Thursday morning, June 12, when the body of an unidentified man was found lying in Osmium Street, near Marcellos Restaurant.

Pedestrians discover body in early morning hours

According to witnesses, pedestrians stumbled upon the gruesome scene around 02:30 and immediately alerted the South African Police Service (SAPS). The man was found lying in a pool of blood, showing signs of a fatal stab wound to the left side of his back and a broken arm.

Victim still unidentified

The deceased, believed to be in his early 30s, was wearing a mask at the time he was found. As of publication, his identity has not yet been confirmed, and police are appealing to the public for assistance.

Authorities have opened a murder investigation and are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack.
