Armed gang storms Khutsong Ext 5 home in early morning robbery
Four masked suspects fire shots and ransack house while family held at gunpoint.
A group of robbers targeted a home in Khutsong Ext 5 earlier this week.
The owner (55) was asleep in her house in the 50s section on March 11. Just after 02:00, she was woken by the sound of her front door being kicked in.
Four masked men, speaking Sesotho, burst into the house.
Three of the men carried handguns, while the fourth was armed with a rifle.
To intimidate the residents, the gang fired two shots into the floor before herding the owner and her family into the main bedroom.
While some of the men guarded the family, their accomplices searched the house.
The robbers took the time to pick up their spent bullet casings before leaving.
The suspects stole cellphones and electrical goods before fleeing the scene on foot.
No injuries were reported.
