Khutsong disability sports day raises awareness of gender-based violence
Kgatelopele Disability Forum brought people with disabilities together for a sports day focused on GBV awareness and community support.
People with disabilities held a sports day in awareness of GBV on August 19 at Khutsong Ext 4 at the Multipurpose Centre.
Men and women gathered to participate in the activities of the day. Various stakeholders, including the Labor Department, Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA), Merafong Municipality, Provincial Office, IEC, and Rhino Cricket Club, were present to support the initiative.
The event was organised by Kgatelopele Disability Forum, which has been very active in fighting for the rights of disabled people in Merafong. Chairperson Mr Tseule, expressed his gratitude to the Executive Mayor, Nozuko Best, and others present who made the event possible.
The organisation will host a heritage day event on September 24 at Ext 5 next to the library.
