Hijackers strike at turn-off to Randfontein from Carletonville

Driver must be on the lookout for such criminals.

Hijackers struck again this week on the R501 between Carletonville and the N12, which residents know as the P111.

The incident took place on October 23 when an employee (40) was driving a white Hyundai H100 truck carrying rollers meant for delivery at mines in the Randfontein area.

As he turned from the P111 road onto the R559 towards Randfontein, the driver decided to stop on the roadside to relieve himself.
Suddenly, a white Hyundai i10 pulled up behind him.

Two unknown men, with one brandishing a firearm, forced the driver back into his company vehicle.

The attackers then made him drive to an open field in Randfontein, where they dropped him off before fleeing with the truck and its cargo.
