Tavern murders shock

The Carletonville police are still looking for the man who killed two people in town without reason last weekend.

According to the police, the incident happened at approximately 21:45 on Friday, 16 September.
A group of friends were relaxing at Red Cap Bar when the girlfriend of one of the men, Sibusiso Gumede, went to the bathroom. When she returned, Gumede asked why she had taken longer than what he considered “normal time”.
They started arguing, and soon, Gumede began to assault his girlfriend. A security guard rushed forward to intervene and help the woman.
Gumede pulled out a firearm and shot the guard through his hand.
Some of his friends also tried to intervene, but Gumede got increasingly angry and shot one of them in the head and body. The seriously wounded friend stumbled out and collapsed next to a wall. Gumede followed him and shot him in the head again, killing him.
He then started searching for his girlfriend, who had run away when she saw what had happened. He managed to track her down at the nearby Jumbo Bar and Restaurant.
When he confronted her, another friend intervened. Gumede also shot him in the head and ran from the scene.
When the Herald went to print, the police were still searching for Gumede, also known as “Ndidani”. He is in his early 30s and considered to be very dangerous.
Anyone who sees him should immediately contact the investigating officer, Sgt Malesela Kekana, at 018 787 9300 or 076 137 7387.

The wanted Sibusiso Gumede.
