Awareness march on Workers’ Day

The march will follow a route through the Carletonville CBD.

Next Wednesday, 1 May, will see concerned residents walking through the Caletonville CBD as part of an awareness event.

According to the organizer, Ms Shaleen Smith, the Merafong City Local Municipality’s traffic department has already approved the event.

Those participating in the event will meet at the Carletonville Civic Centre park at 09:00. From 09:30 to 12:00, they will walk through Emerald and Halite Streets before going through both sides of the parking area in Flint Street.

From here they will walk along Gold Street before closing in the parking area of the S. Buys Pharmacy group, where they will sing and praise.

Smith says that she arranged the awareness campaign, themed “Jesus is King”, in light of all the bad things happening in our area lately.

“The campaign aims to bring harmony, compassion, and solidarity among all members of our society, irrespective of differences,” says Smith.
