Severe thunderstorms predicted
The weather service has warned of severe thunderstorms this week

FOLLOWING the cold front experienced in Gauteng just a few weeks ago, the South African Weather Service’s (SAWS) attention has turned from cold to wet weather with a warning of severe thunderstorms being issued this week.

The rainfall will continue into the weekend with a 60 per cent chance of showers expected on both Saturday and Sunday.
As downpours are known to have previously caused havoc on the roads, with collisions and fatalities being reported, motorists and pedestrians are urged to exercise caution during the wet weather conditions. When travelling by car in wet weather remember to drive at a safe following distance and keep headlights on. Vehicles and animals should be sheltered during this time.
⚠️ ALERT: The SA Weather Service has issued a watch for severe T-storms in GP on Tuesday. Large HAIL, damaging winds & heavy rain possible.
