Meyersdal musician releases debut single
Former Idols star Britney Meistre is to release her debut single, titled Where Are You Now, on November 17.
Things are looking up for Britney Meistre, who will soon be going overseas after being scouted by Los Angeles producers for her music.
To add to this, her debut single, Where Are You Now, will be released on November 17.
The 21-year-old from Meyersdal is known on South African screens after competing in Idols.
Studying BCom Law, she has forever been a music lover and has since worked her way up in the industry.
Where Are You Now was produced by musical artist Lee Cole, who has steadily been making his musical presence known in the country.

“I have done cover songs on YouTube with him. I feel it is a relatable song, which is for all the women out there.”
She said she was excited for people to hear her original music, a song that is very close to her heart.
“I have only ever put out cover songs, so I feel like people will now be able to identify with me as an artist. I am also excited for people to find a connection to the song and relate to it because essentially that is why music exists. Music is a gift from God,” she said.
Passion for her craft

For those who know her, Britney has always loved performing. Growing up, she would always go for plays and musical dramas.
At age 16, after being advised by her father to take her musical journey to another level, she auditioned for Idols.
“It’s something I never thought I would do because I never thought I would get far. I got a golden ticket and went through to the theatre. I didn’t take the journey seriously, I just enjoyed the experience. When they announced the top 16, I fell out but that was a huge experience for me,” she said.

She then went all out and pursued music further and went as far as joining a music academy.
Her mother, Sonya, said: “I remember seeing her with a microphone as a little girl and pretending to be singing.
As she grew older, we realised she had an interest in music. From primary school, she started participating in shows, from as young as five.”
When she turned 18, she went to Texas for a singing competition and was scouted by producers.

“I was supposed to go overseas to record some music just as the pandemic hit, but I will only be going next year. I plan to continue with songwriting and grow as an artist.”
She thanked Lee and her friends and family for their endless support in her music.
“I am yet to do a music video for my new song.”
Her song will be available on all social media platforms, including Spotify, Deezer, YouTube and other platforms.
