Alberton License Department gets facelift
City of Ekurhuleni’s MMC for Infrastructure and Real Estate Kgopelo Hollo says they want to prioritize maintenance across the city’s facilities, following his visit to the Alberton License Department on September 29.
MMC for Infrastructure and Real Estate Kgopelo Hollo recently joined a maintenance team at Alberton License Department, to address maintenance backlog across the city.
His visit was prompted by a need to ensure that efficient work is done in all municipal facilities.
Speaking to the Alberton Record, he said this was an initiative they took upon themselves to ensure that all facilities across the city are in good condition and are well maintained.
“One would understand that this financial year alone we’re being allocated R60m for maintenance and repairs across our facilities in the city. This is a minimal budget; however, we want to commit 80% of this budget in this quarter to ensure that we prioritize maintenance and repairs in all our 77 healthcare facilities, our pay points, our customer care centres and all other public facilities in our city,” Hollo said.
In the next adjustment budget, he said they will be asking for more funds because there is a backlog of around R318m to ensure that all facilities are well maintained and are in order.
