Bonang, Somizi to host Samas
After a dramatic week, the MegaQueen couple could be celebrating success in their respective fields this coming weekend.

Bonang “Queen B” Matheba, the queen of fashion, has announced that she will be hosting the SA Music Awards (Sama) red carpet. The much-awaited awards, being held on Saturday in Durban, will see local talents recognised for keeping Mzansi music on the map – with Bonang’s bae Kiernan “AKA” Forbes nominated for Record of the Year for Baddest and Best Collaboration for All Eyes On Me.
Fifi Cooper, Karen Zoid, Judith Sephuma and Zahara Zonke are all in the running for Best Female Artist of the Year, while Riky Rick, Emtee, Francois Van Coke, Nathi Mnkayi and DJ Black Coffee have been nominated in the Best Male Artist of the Year category. Nathi Mankayi, Black Coffee and Tresor will slug it out for the Best Album of the Year award.
To add to the excitement, Somizi “SomGaga” Mhlongo announced on Thursday morning that he would be joining Bonang as Samas’ host. Recently, Mhlongo had been teasing his followers about upcoming projects. On Tuesday he told fans he had two big announcements to make – one being that he will be joining SABC radio. However, he did not share much about the venture, he just told us to expect more details.
Now we know what the second announcement is. In a video he posted on Instagram, Mhlongo said he was not allowed to share the news earlier, so we had to wait. This year’s Samas event promises to be all we’ve ever wanted – we know the queen of fashion and king of shade never disappoint.
