Bill and Ted 3 is in the works

Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter will reprise their iconic roles in Bill and Ted Face The Music.

In news that can only be described as most excellent, a third Bill and Ted film has been announced – almost thirty years after the first movie was released.

Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter are set to reprise their roles as ‘Ted’ Theodore Logan and ‘Bill’ S Preston Esquire, respectively, for Bill and Ted Face The Music, which is currently in pre-production.

In an announcement at the Cannes Film Festival, it was revealed that the series’ creators Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon have written the screenplay, and that Dean Parisot, who helmed Galaxy Quest and Fun with Dick, and that Jane will be in the director’s chair.

According to a report on Variety, the film’s plot centres on the titular characters who are both now middle-aged, tasked with writing the greatest song in the history of music. A visitor from the future tells Bill and Ted if they fail in this endeavour, the world will end. You know, all really highbrow stuff.

Tune those air-guitars and be excellent to each other!
