FOX Networks Group (FNG) and MultiChoice today announce that DStv Compact customers will be able to enjoy the global entertainment channel, FOX (DStv channel 125) from 1 June 2016.
Emmy Award nominee and Golden Globe winner Taraji Penda Henson is set to make her first visit to South Africa in a five-day trip to Johannesburg, where she’ll do interviews and meet and greet sessions with super-fans of the smash-hit show Empire.
DStv Compact customers will get to experience the thrilling and exclusive premieres of the best shows on FOX in HD, within hours of the United States broadcast. The hot lineup includes the popular and powerful hit television drama, Empire in which Henson portrays the feisty ‘Cookie Lyon’ with flashy fashion sense and witty remarks, opposite her ex-husband and the ruthless head of the Lyon empire, ‘Lucious Lyon’ played by Academy Award nominee, Terrence Howard, and many more exciting shows.
To coincide with her visit and to ensure viewers are all caught up on the show, DStv and FOX are offering DStv Compact customers a rebroadcast of the second season of Empire with double bill episodes starting on the weekends of 4-5 June, 11-12 June and 18-19 June – three episodes will air per day at 19:20 pm, 20:10 pm and 21:00 pm.

General Manager for Content for MultiChoice, Aletta Alberts explained that during the FOX two-week open window special earlier this year, they received an overwhelming response from their Compact customers who enjoyed the FOX channel line-up. “We believe that the fulltime addition of FOX with its excellent programming will enhance the entertainment experience of our Compact customers,”Alberts added.
