Clover’s Little Big Cook Off is back

Season 2 of the Clover’s Little Big Cook Off (#CloverLBCO) is back on television.

In this season, we are introduced to 12 food-loving families. In each episode of the first round, the teams get to make their own special family recipe, as well as participate in a creative baking challenge, where each team competes at making a basic baking recipe with their own additions and creativity to set them apart. At the end of each episode, two teams go through to the next round. However, the lowest scoring family is not eliminated from the show just yet… they return to try their luck in a Wild Card episode.

In the first episode, we were introduced to the first three teams: Purple Pumpkin, Team Joy, and Totally Spiced.

Purple Pumpkin team

Zilda, 42, and Elif, 10, Acar from Waverly in Johannesburg, is a mother-and-daughter team that brings a special Greek flare to cooking with their traditional blend of flavours. Although the team was hoping to make it through to the second round, they are grateful to get the chance to showcase their teamwork and cooking skills in the Wild Card episode. Elif is beyond excited to be on the show: “It doesn’t matter if we win or lose,” she says, “as long as we have fun!”

Team Joy

Hope, 38, and Amogelang, 11, Matlala enjoy cooking together because it makes them feel joyful. From domestic worker to policewoman, Hope has always dreamed of being like the chefs on TV, but never expected it to become a reality for her. With Amogelang as Hope’s biggest fan, motivator and her cooking companion, Hope believes they deserve to win.

The winners of the second season will receive up to R1 000.000 in prizes – including a seven-night family holiday for four to Disney World in Orlando, Florida, USA, as well as a kitchen makeover valued at over R300.000, compliments of Clover and Cordev Kitchens (made in Germany), with appliances sponsored by Bosch.
