Dinwiddie United FC continues to grow

Big plans for local football team.

The Dinwiddie United Football Club has been growing consistently since it was founded in June, last year.

“I am a happy man when I look at the club’s growth, it is great to see how far we have come since I started the club, last year,” said the club’s main coach, Percy Matlatse.

“The junior and senior teams are already playing in the Easterns Local Football Association (ELFA) League and their performances show that they have the potential to make it to the national team one day, and maybe even win the World Cup for us.”

The senior team’s captain, Tshepo “Puyol” Kgabodiso, had only good things to say about his team.

“We are currently third on the league log, which is really great,” said Kgabodiso.

“This is good considering that we train at the park next to Dinwiddie Primary School, because we don’t have a training venue,” said Matlatse.

“The lack of a training venue leads to us playing away games only, which is costly, but we love football and we will kick the ball through any circumstance and situation.

“The boys are already talking about winning the league and the league cup, they want to bring it home to Dinwiddie.”

The juniors are also happy with the club’s growth and performance.

“We are happy to be playing in the league and the boys always look forward to the weekend games,” said the u-13 team captain, Thabo “Mjiks” Mjiyakho.

“We respect Matlatse and appreciate all that he does for the club, we would, one day, like to be like the Andile Jalis of the country and play for the South African squad and hopefully internationally, as well,” said the u-15 team captain, Buhle “Mboks” Mbokoma.

“The club is open to anyone who is interested in joining the club,” concluded Matlatse.
