Luso Africa FC in impressive form ahead of 2019 season
Luso Africa Football Club’s pre-season clash against Alberton Football Club.
Spectators happily gathered at Hattingh Park recently for an entertaining afternoon of football as the Eastern Local Football Association (ELFA) Super League pre-season Top 8 tournament got underway.
Luso Africa Football Club hosted Alberton Football Club, and both teams’ fitness was tested.
The second team’s clash against Alberton was a tightly contested affair, with both teams making mistakes they would later regret.

They slowly familiarised themselves, once again, with the field of play after the end of season break.
Alberton looked sharper than their hosts and their efforts were rewarded with a 2-1 win.
The first teams had an exciting start to their game.
Starting off with a very high tempo, Fulvio Pereira and Brandon Hendricks from Luso, scored two goals in the first 15 minutes.

The pace set by Luso forced Alberton back into the game and they managed to find the back of the net right before the half-time whistle filled the venue.
Both teams returned to the pitch more competitive than before during the second half.

However, Alberton’s defence was too slow for Sizwe Magugu’s shot which landed behind Alberton’s keeper, pushing the score to 3-1.
With Alberton unable to even the score, the 3-1 lead earned Luso a good win, right at the start of the tournament.
