Primrose police recently arrested a 24-year-old man on charges of shoplifting.
The arrest was made at a pharmacy in Rietfontein Road.
The 24-year-old, under the watchful eye of the store’s security, entered the pharmacy, took a see-through bag containing syringes off a shelf and hid two of the syringes in his pocket.
He then left the store.
The store’s security personnel followed him and asked to search his pockets.
The suspect admitted to stealing the two syringes and handed them over to the security personnel.
The Primrose police were called to the scene and the suspect was arrested.
He was detained at the Primrose Police Station pending his appearance in the Germiston Magistrates Court.
