Manager of the Germiston SPCA Laurence Kingston recently attended the Pet and Me Lifestyle Expo at the Coca-Cola Dome where the Guinness World Record for the most amount of pet food collected over a seven day period was broken by SA.
The previous record of 9.8 tons held by USA was broken.
In collaboration with Henk Jutte from Complete Pet Food, the Pet and Me Expo and donations collected from the public over a seven day period the record breaking amount of 10 tons 6kgs was achieved.
Several worthy animal organisations, SPCAs and NPOs participated as beneficiaries for the pet food collected.
The Germiston SPCA staff are grateful for and appreciative of the fantastic donation of pet food they received.
