Man rushed to hospital following assault

Man stabbed with beer bottle.

A 29-year-old man was arrested following an alleged assault in Makause informal settlement.

The arrest was made when officers were alerted to the incident by the victim.

The victim told officer he had been on his way to a local spaza shop to buy matches when a man approached him and attempted to stab him.

The victim was able to escape the attack and ran back to his home.

After a few minutes he heard a knock on his door, it was his landlord.

His landlord informed him that two men were looking for him.

When the victim walked out of his shack he realised it was the man who had attempted to stab him earlier.

Before he could escape the accused attacked him.

“The victim was stabbed several times with a broken beer bottle.

“He was rushed to hospital, where he received treatment for his wounds,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

The victim’s alleged attacker was arrested and taken to the Primrose Police Station.
