A 31-year-old man from the Delport informal settlement was recently arrested and charged with assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Primrose police made the arrest after the victim opened a case against the accused.
The victim alleged that he was with a friend at a local tavern when the accused approached them.
The men begun to argue, during which the accused became aggressive and started throwing bricks at the victim.
The man sustained injuries to the head.
Officers were able to trace the man using the description given by the victim.
He was arrested and appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court where his case was postponed.
