Local athlete represented Central Gauteng
Germiston Callies' athlete placed fifth at championships.
Germiston Callies’ Lemuel Klaasen attended the South African Junior Championships held in Bloemfontein, recently.
Klaasen came fifth in the youth boys’ long jump.
The youngster is coached by Germiston Callies’ Stephané Kotzé and sponsored by Victor Haripersad from Jupiter Electrical Wholesalers.
Klaasen only started his athletics career in 2014 and has been selected for the Central Gauteng Athletics (CGA) Team.
Kotzé also coached Klaasen’s mother, Liezel Bell Klaasen, who was a dynamic sprint athlete in the ’80s and the ’90s.
