Severe thunderstorms predicted in parts of Gauteng today

The South African Weather Service this morning has released the following warnings for Gauteng:
- Veld Fire Conditions:
Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected in parts of Gauteng.
- Severe thunderstorms:
The severe thunderstorms, set to hit between 2pm and 11pm, may bring with them strong damaging winds, and even hail.
- High discomfort values:
Hot and humid weather will result in extremely uncomfortable conditions over northern Gauteng
Residents are urged to take precautions when travelling and be sure their vehicles and animals have appropriate shelter.
