Man threatened with sharp object and robbed

Man robbed after giving men money for food.

While walking to work recently, a man was allegedly robbed.

The complainant told Primrose police, while opening a case at the station, that he’d been walking in Fishers’ Hill when he was approached by three men.

He claimed the men asked him for money to buy food, so he gave them R100 and kept walking.

“He explained to officers, that one of the men came up behind him and pressed a sharp object to his throat.

“He was joined by one of the other men, who began to search the victim,” said communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome.

The pair made off with the man’s wallet, which contained R1 700.

Using the description given by the man, police started their search for the two accused.

“Officers were able to trace one of the men: a 25-year-old was arrested.

“Officers are still searching for the second man involved in the crime,” Maome said.

The arrested suspect appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court recently, where his case was postponed for plea and trial.
