Man stabbed to death during fight

A man was allegedly stabbed to death in a fight in Pretoria Road, in Primrose, recently. It is reported that a fight broke out between two men.

National News – Call for complete shutdown across South Africa circulates social media

Messages circulating on social media have warned that there will be a national shutdown on July 2. The messages call on South Africans to shut down all roads and highways to protest against the increase in the price of petrol and against the increase in value-added tax (VAT).

Residents of Pharoe Park tired of being ‘milked’ by metro

Residents of Pharoe Park, a housing project located on the outskirts of the Germiston CBD, marched through the streets of the city last Thursday in protest against poor service delivery and what they deem the exploitation of low-income households. The protesting residents marched from the Germiston Magistrate’s Court in President Street to the Germiston Civic Centre to hand over a memorandum, escorted by both SAPS and EMPD officers.

Police discover human bones in Katlehong

Katlehong police have opened an inquest document after human bones were discovered next to a river in Moleleki Extention Two, recently. “The discovery was made at around 1pm. At this stage, it is unclear if the bones are male or female, however, a decomposed dress was found on top of the bones,” said Capt Mega Ndobe, communications officer for the Katlehong police.
