The Primrose police’s Det Const Patrick Marakalala was commended for his hard work which helped secure the conviction of 49-year-old Calvin Maluleke.
Maluleke was arrested for a murder and an attempted murder which took place in October 2016 in the Makause informal settlement.

Maluleke was found guilty and sentenced in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, recently.
He was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment on the murder charge and three years imprisonment on the attempted murder charge.
This means the accused will serve a period of 18 years direct imprisonment.
The Primrose police’s station commander Col Albertina Vesi congratulated Marakalala on his hard work and dedication and encouraged other detectives to learn from his example.

“Criminals must realise they cannot run away from the law.
“If you commit a crime the police will hunt you until you are brought to book,” she said.
