Deadline looms to submit artwork for Thami Mnyele Fine Arts Awards

It's crunch time and the competition for the coveted prize is on

The Ekurhuleni metro in collaboration with the Lizamore & Associates Mentorship Programme is calling on all artists to enter the prestigious, nationally acclaimed Thami Mnyele Fine Arts Awards (31 edition).

Therefore, all artworks must be ready and suitable for exhibition.

The judges will select an exhibition of the best artworks. The artworks must have been completed in the 12 months preceding the close of entries date.

“We encourage artists who specialize in contemporary fine art to start preparing their work while there is still time before the set final submission dates. This is to allow everyone an opportunity to participate in the competition by submitting impressive artworks,” Member of the Mayoral Committee for Community Services  Dora Mlambo said.

The submission dates for artworks into the 2018 Thami Mnyele Fine Arts Awards are as follows:

Works may be submitted from August 21 to 23 between 9am to 7pm at the Coen Scholtz Recreation Centre, Mooifontein Road, Birchleigh North Kempton Park.

Entries may also be submitted at Boksburg Library on August 21, between 9am to 4pm.

Entry fee is R50 per artwork entered.
