Breaking News: High-ranked EMPD officer dies in tragic electrocution

An EMPD officer was electrocuted and died at the Estera substation in Stark Road last Tuesday. Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS) were called to the scene at around 9.28am.
“When the ambulance personnel arrived on scene, they found the EMPD officer,” explained William Ntladi, district manager media liaison for DEMS.

While many Katlehong residents cast their votes in the 2019 national and provincial elections last Wednesday, the Katlehong police were hard at work. Members of the Katlehong SAPS Crime Prevention Unit, with the help of detectives from the Katlehong Police Station, arrested four suspects.
