Stolen vehicle recovered, Wadeville Licensing Department employee arrested

EMPD members and members of a tracking company traced the vehicle to Leondale.

A Toyota Quantum minibus was stolen in February this year in Kempton Park.

Members of the EMPD Community Liaison Unit (CLU) received information from a vehicle-tracking company last Monday at 5pm, that the vehicle was parked in the yard of a house in Leondale.

Metro police officers and tracking company officials raced to the given address and located the vehicle.

“The owner of the house claimed that the white Toyota Quantum belonged to his girlfriend,” said Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, spokesperson for the EMPD.

“The recovered vehicle was reportedly stolen from Thrifty Car Rental in Pomona, Kempton Park, and in-depth investigations are underway.”
