Young Chiefs came from behind two times to equalise. But the strike from Madondo in the dying minutes of the game sealed the win for Lucky Birds.

Muzi Mbuyisa, coach and owner of Lucky Birds, said he was excited about the results of the game.

“When the log started we were at the bottom in position eight. That is because we have new players who were not yet familiar with our style of play. Now that they’ve caught up, the team has improved its log position,” said Mbuyisa.

The win on the day puts Lucky Birds’ third position on the log.

The results of all the u-17 games that were played on the day are as follow:

Kathorus Hyper Academy 3-2 Spruitview Eleven FC, Kathorus 11 FC 3-4 Real Vultures FC, Sparrows FC 2-0 Green Lovers FC, Popcorn Valley United 5-1 Hlahatsi Peace Makers FC, Lucky Birds FC 3-2 Young Chiefs FC and Young Tigers FC 4-1 Alaska FC.
