Man allegedly robbed by three men in Rietfontein Road
While collecting plastic bottles in Rietfontein Road recently, a man was allegedly grabbed from behind by three men. “The complainant told officers one of the men grabbed him while another took his firearm and 18 rounds of ammunition and the third his wallet, which contained his firearm licence, bank cards and R300 in cash,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
Busy weekend for Katlehong SAPS
Fourteen suspects were arrested by the Katlehong police during several weekend operations. The operations were carried out between October 11 and 13 by officers from the Katlehong SAPS Crime Prevention Unit, detectives from the Katlehong Police Station and members of the EMPD.
ALERT: Stage two loadshedding scheduled to take place today
Eskom announced that Stage Two rotational loadshedding would be implemented from 9am until 11pm on Wednesday. The company claimed that a shortage in generating capacity has led to loadshedding, which is conducted rotationally as a measure of last resort to protect the power system.
Local pawn shop alerts police to attempted sale of stolen goods
Primrose police were called to a local pawn shop recently after three men, aged between 24 and 31, attempted to sell alleged stolen goods. “The men attempted to sell a hard drive, keyboard and several other items,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
EMPD officers salvage nine-metre copper cable
Patrolling EMPD Public Order Policing (POPS) Unit members noticed three people running in different directions in a veld last Monday, just before 2pm in the Germiston area. Upon investigation, the officers discovered a nine-metre electricity copper cable which had been disconnected.
