New social worker at BCS to tackle social challenges

BCS encourages communities to take advantage of their services to improve their social well-being.

The Believers Care Society Youth Development Centre Turffontein office has contracted the service of a social worker to assist the communities in addressing and managing growing social challenges amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

The social worker will officially resume duties on August 5 at 85 High Street Turffontein and will be working normal office hours, from 8am to 4pm.

Services include: client assessment and referrals, provide substance abuse, mental health intervention, provide gender-based or domestic violence intervention, manage youth who are susceptible to committing crime, implement protective factors in addressing social issues, crisis intervention, facilitate re-union/reconciliation between youth and family and create programmes to address challenges faced by the youth.
