Distell opens vaccination site
“After more than a year of restrictions, which hit the alcohol industry hard, we are optimistic that we can start to rebuild the economy by playing our part in the acceleration of the vaccine roll-out,” said Fourie.
Distell has put its employees and their loved ones first by opening its vaccination site in Wadeville, Germiston and Springs.
The sites were officially opened last week Monday by northern regional manager Nicky Fourie, Ward 39 Clr Alta de Beer and MCC for Corporate and Shared Services Dorah Mlambo.
Distell received accreditation to administer vaccines at five of its sites with 2 000 employees and more than 1 000 of their spouses already registered and eager to get the jab.

“After more than a year of restrictions, which hit the alcohol industry hard, we are optimistic that we can start to rebuild the economy by playing our part in the acceleration of the vaccine roll-out,” said Fourie.
“Distel’s vaccination programme is in partnership with the company’s medical services provider, INCON. Distell will cover the full cost of the vaccines.
“Employees in rural or remote areas will also be supported to get the jab, which is the two-shot Pfizer vaccine. The vaccine is a personal choice and no employee will be forced to take the vaccine or be discriminated against,” said Fourie.
“Distell is an example of a company that looks after its employees and the community that it serves,” said de Beer.
