As the year kicks into full swing the Primrose Youth Desks encourage and enable young people to participate actively in identifying the causes of youth violence and crime and to collaborate in creating social crime prevention strategies for their communities.

The Primrose desk invites young people to join the crime prevention team.

“Members can join the force by visiting our Monday meetings at the Methodist Church opposite the police station at 17:00.

“Members who are willing to join must be residents of the areas, which are serviced by the Primrose police station or must be working within the Primrose station areas of jurisdiction,” said Maome.

“Members will have the opportunity to serve on the board of the desk. The desk is operating under interim structures.

In June new members will be elected to fill the vacated positions.

“Due to work and the search for greener pastures members have migrated to other places,” said Maome.

He said available members have been instrumental in ensuring that the desk functions and stamps its authority in the eradication and prevention of crime among the youth.

“We finished our back-to-school campaigns on record. We now shift our focus on safety,” said Maome.
