Gudhuza FC is unstoppable in the league
“I am proud of my boys. If we can get financial backing it means we can be able to produce teams that can challenge more established clubs.”
Gudlhuza FC anticipates lifting a trophy after a successful 2022/23 season, following their return to the Eden Park Local Football League Association (EPLFA) junior league this year.
The club proved they are determined and eager to grow, following their successful league season with the U17 division. This marked their two consecutive league titles under different local football associations.
Before their return to EPLFA, Gudlhuza FC won the Katlehong Local Football Association junior league title with the U17 division.
They recently won the EPLFA league session with 64 points, a difference of two points from Greenfield Rovers FC, which secured the second position with 62 points.
EPLFA will present the club with their prizes on December 10 at Eden Park Stadium.
Coach Themba Gudlhuza said the club surprised him. They are making history because during their first time under KALFA won the league with U15 and U17.
“We went back to EPLFA and won again. It shows that we are doing a good job. It means our development structure is intact because most players did not know anything about football when they joined the team,” said Gudlhuza.
He said most players had their first soccer boots when they joined the team. He said it is only now that their hard work is beginning to bear fruits.
“I am proud of my boys. If we can get financial backing, it means we can be able to produce teams that can challenge more established, professional and development football clubs like Kaizer Chiefs and Sundowns.
“We plead to the community to back us with financial support so that we can continue developing these boys and become attractive to bigger teams,” he concluded.
