He was found guilty on July 10 this year and sentenced to life imprisonment on September 5 by Germiston Regional Court 1.
Elethu Kilani of Alberton was recently sentenced to life imprisonment for the rape of an 11-year-old girl.
In 2017, an 11-year-old girl, soon to turn 12 years old, was walking from school at Rondebult, Germiston.
Kilani, who she knew, followed her. He was her father’s friend, who used to drink liquor together.

Ekurhuleni district communications officer Captain Neldah Sekgobela said the victim did not mind Kilani following her because she knew him.
“Kilani then grabbed her in a passage and took her to nearby fields where he raped her.
“He told her he was raping her for her father’s sins and threatened to kill her and her family.
“The victim did not report the case immediately. only reported it after a friend told her the same thing had happened to her, and she received counselling. The victim then told her sister via sms.
The sister confronted her, and she confirmed the incident.
They then told her mother and reported the matter to the police. The mother traced Kilani in 2020 and eventually, the police arrested him.
The docket was assigned to Detective Sergeant Steven Vukeya of the Germiston FCS.
