Fatal fire in Driehoek claims two lives
A house fire in Driehoek, Germiston, ended in tragedy when two individuals were found deceased, according to DEMS.
DEMS discovered two deceased individuals inside a burning structure during a fatal fire incident in Driehoek, Germiston, on Friday.
On October 3, firefighters from the Primrose Fire Station swiftly responded to a fire emergency at No. 1 Junction Road, Driehoek. They were later joined by crews from the Bedfordview and Alberton fire stations for additional support.
The initial response team tackled the blaze defensively, working diligently to contain the fire until reinforcements arrived. Through coordinated teamwork, the crews managed to bring the fire under control.

“Amid the firefighting efforts, search and rescue operations were launched due to concerns that individuals might have been trapped inside the structure,” said DEMS spokesperson William Ntladi.
“Tragically, two charred bodies were discovered in one of the rooms. Both individuals were declared dead by the Gauteng Provincial Government’s medical team,” Ntladi said.

“The scene was formally handed over to the SAPS and fire safety investigators for further examination and to determine the cause of the fire,” he added.
