The Thembisa-based side now tops the league standings, having scored six goals and conceded three before this fixture.

Destroyers FC administrator Realeboga “Nare” Tlhako praised the team’s determination and preparation despite the challenging weather conditions.

“We did all the necessary preparations coming into this match. All the boys had to do was deliver their best,” said Tlhako.

“At the moment we’re happy with the results and the team’s progression, especially after having to rebuild following the loss of several first-team players to other clubs. Our new players have adjusted well, and we’re continuing where we left off last season.”

Tlhako added that the club aims to build on its past success and push for promotion.

“We won our stream in our debut season but fell short during the play-offs to the ABC Motsepe League. This season, we want to replicate that success and earn promotion,” said Tlhako.
