EMPD impounds nine vehicles and two billboards during by-law enforcement blitz

The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department's (EMPD) Towing Unit impounded nine vehicles and two billboards during a week-long operation targeting by-law violations across the city.

The EMPD Towing Unit officers impounded the vehicles and billboards between November 3 and 9, as part of an intensified operation targeting various by-law contraventions across the City of Ekurhuleni.

According to the EMPD, the week-long enforcement drive focused on illegal advertising, unroadworthy vehicles, parking violations, and unlawful roadside mechanical activities.

The department said these operations form part of its ongoing commitment to maintaining law and order, improving road safety, and ensuring compliance with municipal regulations.

“Compliance is not optional – it’s the law,” the EMPD emphasised in a statement.

The EMPD further urged residents, motorists, and business owners to adhere to by-laws, warning that similar operations will continue throughout the city.

“These enforcement efforts are essential to promoting safety, order, and accountability within the community,” the department added.
