Ward 40 PR councillor Kade Guerreiro writes:
The 21-day lockdown is in full swing due to the spread of the coronavirus.
Residents are asked to remain calm and to comply with the process to ensure we stop the pandemic.
Residents of Leondale, Buhle Park, Shongeni and Crossroads informal settlement are asked to comply with government’s request to remain inside their homes unless they need to go out to seek food or medical help during the lockdown.
With the virus spreading, the highly populated areas of Ward 40 are at higher risk.
Residents are urged to keep clean, wash their hands as often as possible and keep a safe distance from other people.
Should residents not have gloves, masks or sanitiser, it has been advised to use normal soap and water to wash their hands.
All liquor shops, taverns, as well as non-essential shops, must be closed. Both the SAPS and SANDF will be monitoring our areas to ensure compliance.
As the PR councillor for Ward 40 and as an essential worker, I will be available to answer any questions and ensure service delivery continues within our ward.
Please keep safe during these difficult times.
