Soccer teams from the Germiston Police Station and Nigel Correctional Services took to the field in an East Rand League fixture, on June 18, at the Germiston Stadium.
It was a fairly played game, with Nigel pocketing the first goal in the first half.
The match ended in a 2-2 draw.
Germiston Police soccer coach Lieut Col Eric Khosa, was satisfied with the team’s effort, but feels that there is still room for improvement.
“The players must look at the group games of the Soccer World Cup for inspiration; this might help in the next league match,” said the spokesman for the Germiston SAPS, WO Andre de Jager.
