Silver Salvo replaces the Super Six

Super Six is cancelled.

Golden Gloves Promotions’ Super Six Clash for Cash light-heavyweight tournament, that was to be held at Emperors Palace from August to November, has been cancelled.

The giant boxing promoting company will, instead, present the Silver Salvo tournament on August 9, at the same venue.

The bill will be headlined by a 12-round WBC light-heavyweight clash between Ryno Liebenberg and Russia’s Denis Grachev.

The Advertiser understands that the main reason behind the cancellation of the Super Six event was the imminent withdrawal of Tommy Oosthuizen, whose fight would have been the main draw card.

Reasons for the undefeated southpaw boxer’s withdrawal are unclear.

Other boxers who were to have fought in the tournament included Johnny Muller, Liebenberg, Grachev, Argentine boxer Roberto Bolonti and Namibia’s Wibeforce Shihepo.
