Help support Trinity Athletics Club fulfill its mission

”Since the beginning, we have succeeded in producing athletes who have gone on to participate in national championships.”

The Tedstoneville, Germiston-based Trinity Athletics Club seeks sponsorship to fulfil its mission.

Randolf Nelson, the club’s chairperson, and his wife, Grezelda Nelson, the deputy chairperson, established the community-based club in 2020 during Covid-19.

Their goal was to develop and foster young talent to compete internationally.

“We are affiliated with Central Gauteng Athletics. We compete using their calendar, and to keep going, we need sponsors.

“We currently raise money on our own and pay for most expenses out of our own pockets,” said Nelson.

Trinity Athletics Club needs support.

“Most of our skilled athletes comprise children from Ramaphosa informal settlement, who face financial challenges.

“When our athletes perform well, the bigger clubs frequently snatch them up.

“However, they don’t always help the athletes improve. Instead, they finance them and give them improper physical training.

“Since the beginning, we have succeeded in producing athletes who have gone on to participate in national championships.

“For a club without funds and resources, we have worked hard to reach the top and produce athletes who have represented us well in competitions. Last year, one of our athletes broke a record at the Gauteng Championships,” said Nelson.
