1 000 athletes take part in Central Gauteng Athletics league in Germiston
CGA 2025 youth to senior track and field league meeting 2 was hosted at Germiston Stadium.

Central Gauteng Athletics (CGA) hosted its second league of the 2025 track and field season at the Germiston Stadium, with over 1 000 athletes participating.
Tshiamo Motsamai claimed the first position in the men’s U18 long jump with a 6.50m jump, with Moetlo Sefoka of UJ in second jumping 6.07m and third also in Brakpan colours was Adriaan Botha with 6.05m jump.
In the middle-distance events, there was an interesting competition among the 1 500m athletes which was dominated by Tyran Brooks in the colours of Boxer clocking 04:07.27.

The second position was secured by Wilem du Plooy of HMK, who clocked 04:14.92. In third was Nkosinathi Dlamini of Warriors of West in the time of 04:18.51.
“Jason Vermeulen of Kudus crossing the finish line in 1:55.65 dominated the senior men’s 800m event.

“Second was Sipho Ndhlovu of Masai clocking 1:57.82 and third representing Mamepe Striders was Lefa Kwanele finishing 1:58.56,” said CGA Track and Field Chairperson Maggie Dicks.
Dicks said she is excited to see how much great potential is unfolding in the 2025 track and field season so far.
“Looking forward to seeing you on February 15 at Germiston Stadium,” said Dicks.
