Local musician takes to the stage
Catch Lambton resident Jay Wilson at the Barnyard Theatre this weekend.
Lambton resident Jay Wilton will be wowing audiences in a Hey Now! Hey Now Now! at the Barnyard Theatre in Boksburg on September 22.
Multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, composer and performer, Jay began his music career as a drummer for local punk rock legends The Slashdogs.
He later began composing his own works and started a band called The Cavalier which captured the attention of DStv channel MK where the band was nominated for best animation and their song Roses are Dead, Heartbreak is True reached the number two spot on the Tuksfm Top 100 chart.
Jay then further expanded his musical horizon by performing a headlining slot at Ramfest this year singing with DJ Iamnoze on the dance stage after Double Adapter and is currently working on the release of his solo project Jay Jeopardy.
He is currently one of the stars in Hey Now! Hey Now Now!
The show pays tribute to the best alternative and contemporary rock bands of our lifetime.
Including the music of: The Cure, The Sisters of Mercy, The Cult, Depeche Mode, My Chemical Romance, The Mission, Nine Inch Nails, Radiohead, Violent Femmes, Joy Division, The White Stripes, Echo and The Bunnymen, Placebo, New Model Army, The Smiths, Siouxsie and The Banshees and more the show promises to be fun all the way.
It features the talents of Danny de Wet, David Beretta Owens, Jon Preston, Jay Wilton, Julian von Plato, JP Matthews, Justin Hart, Jenna Meiring, Martin Dugdale and Storm Thomas.
The doors open at 6.30pm and the show starts at 8pm.
