Tshwaranang FC eyes regional glory after Lesedi League triumph
Against the odds, Tshwaranang FC overcame a lack of training facilities and limited resources to win the 2025/26 Lesedi Promotional League title. Head coach Tumetsi "Transport" Mochane says discipline, resilience and strong community support have laid the foundation for the club's success as they prepare for the regional playoffs.
Tshwaranang FC’s remarkable journey from overcoming limited resources to lifting the 2025/26 Lesedi Promotional League title has become an inspiring story of resilience, discipline and community support.
The club was officially crowned champions after an outstanding campaign and will now represent the Lesedi Local Football Association at the regional league playoffs in August, where promotion to the next level will be at stake.
Head coach Tumetsi “Transport” Mochane, who has spent nearly three decades developing young footballers, credited the team’s unwavering character and discipline for their success.
“One of the biggest reasons behind our success is that we never allowed our spirits to drop after losing matches. Instead, we encouraged the players to learn from every defeat and come back stronger.
“We constantly remind them that discipline is the key to success, and the players embraced that philosophy throughout the season. We faced many challenges, and we didn’t have a proper training field.
“Our community came together with shovels to help prepare a field where the players could train. We also received valuable support from the municipality, Boxer Store and members of the local community, who donated footballs and training gear. Without that support, this achievement would have been much more difficult,” he said.
Mochane also added that preparations are already underway as the club looks to continue its fairytale season.
“Our focus now is to prepare the team mentally and physically. We want our players to have a strong and positive mindset.
“We are also planning to participate in tournaments in other towns to expose the players to different styles of football and improve our tactical approach before the playoffs.
“Our community is at the heart of this club, and the name Tshwaranang represents unity, and that is exactly what we have experienced. We are deeply grateful for the incredible support from our community and our sponsors. They believed in us from the beginning, and this title belongs to all of them,” he said.
