Suspected copper thief arrested after burglary report in Rensburg
A suspected copper thief was arrested after a rapid response by the Rensburg Forum Tactical Response Unit to a reported burglary in progress at a vacant property in Rensburg. Copper piping was recovered and the suspect was handed over to Heidelberg SAPS for further investigation.
A suspected copper thief was arrested after a swift response by the Rensburg Forum Tactical Response Unit to a reported burglary in progress at a vacant property on JG Strydom Street.
According to information provided by the Rensburg Forum, a vigilant member of the public alerted the organisation on July 31 after noticing a suspect allegedly stealing copper piping from the property.

Members of the Tactical Response Unit immediately responded to the scene, where they located and apprehended the suspect before he could leave the premises.
The Forum said the suspect was taken into custody and copper piping believed to have been stolen from the property was recovered during the operation.

The suspect was subsequently handed over to the SAPS, which will continue the investigation and process the case through the criminal justice system.
