Common robbers arrested

Crime does not pay.

Captain Thivhulawi Tshilate (communications officer and social crime prevention co-ordinator) of Heidelberg SAPS single-handedly arrested two suspects in a common robbery case.

The suspects robbed a 22-year-old man and his girlfriend of their cell phones and a wallet on January 3 in AG Visser Street, Rensburg.

The complainant spotted the suspects the next day in Vlok Street and notified Captain Tshilate who immediately gave chase. The long arm of the law in the form of the captain eventually caught up with the robbers in Meyer Street.

The captain arrested the 20-year-old suspect together with his 22-year-old accomplice on the spot.
