New online driver’s licence pre-booking system
As from November 1, the City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) will no longer assist walk-in customers when it comes to drivers’ licences.
New online driver’s licence pre-booking system follows the launch of the new National Traffic Information System (eNATIS) online driver’s licence pre-booking service by the MEC for Roads and Transport – Ismail Vadi, in August this year.
This applies to booking a learner’s licence test, booking a driver’s licence test, renewing a driver’s licence card and renewing or applying for a professional driving permit (PrDP).
eNATIS, in partnership with the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC), will help reduce long queues and shorten the time customers spend at licence stations.
Ekurhuleni residents are urged to book their applications online at online.natis.gov.za.
Walk-in customers requiring the following services at the driver’s licence and testing centre in Nigel, will however still be accommodated:
- vehicle registrations;
- vehicle licence renewals;
- duplicate registration documents;
- scrapping of registered vehicles; and
- change of vehicle ownership.
