Gymnasts from the Nigel Gymnastics Club took part in the Eastern Gauteng Regional Qualifying competition on May 4 in Kempton Park. 30 Gymnasts from Nigel Gymnastics were entered and all of them qualified for their Eastern Gauteng colours.
Gymnasts compete in various levels and age groups. They are awarded medals based on their four apparatus averages as follows: Gold – 8.8 or higher, Silver – 8.5-8.79 and bronze is anything under 8.5.
These gymnasts will now advance to compete at the Gauteng Festival being held in Kempton Park on May 25 for the boys and May 31 and June 1 for the girls.
