“Ons is teleurgesteld dat die regering volhard om media-konferensies en vergaderings rondom COVID-19 op Sondae aan te bied,” het Louis Meintjes (president van TLU SA) gesê.

“President Ramaphosa gaan sover om ‘n biddag aan te kondig, maar dan ontheilig die regering die Sabbat op presies dieselfde dag. Die Woord van God is baie duidelik oor Sondae. Hoe kan ons die seën van God Drie-enig verwag as die regering volhard op hierdie doelbewuste sondige pad?”

“Die krag van gebed is tans dalk meer belangrik as wat sommige van die belaglike en sinnelose regulasies is,” het Meintjes uitgebrei.

“Die regering moet ophou om in die pad te staan van gelowiges wat God Drie-enig – op Sondae – wil aanbid en die dag as heilig wil hanteer.”

TAU SA has a serious objection to the government’s new trend of announcing important information on Sundays.

“We are very disappointed in the government’s insistence to host media conferences and meetings around COVID-19 on Sundays,” Louis Meintjes (the president of TAU SA) said.

“President Ramaphosa goes to the trouble of announcing a day of prayer, but then the government breaks the Sabbath on that very same day. The Word of God is very clear about Sundays. How can we expect the blessing of God Almighty if the government insists on continuing on this purposefully wrong road?”

TAU SA said it is proud of being a Christian organisation which believes that God Almighty is in control.

“The power of prayer is probably more important at the moment than some of the ridiculous and senseless regulations,” Meintjes added.

“The government must stop standing in the way of the faithful who want to praise God Almighty – on Sundays – and want to treat the day as holy.”
