One of the school’s main challenges was the ablution facilities where no less than 17 toilets were out of order.

However, in a collaborated effort between Hoër and Laer Volkskool, not only were the toilets repaired (at a cost of around R12 500), but the whole terrain was also properly cleaned ahead of the return of learners.

Implementing of social distancing, screening and protective equipment, daily sanitation and transport of learners still pose a challenge, but through the efforts of the neighbouring schools, Mountain View High School will now at least be ready to welcome its senior learners back on Monday.
